The doorbell/knock on the door/sound of a knock was a piercing screech/loud and insistent/soft but persistent. I groaned inwardly/sighed dramatically/let out a tired moan. My mom, bless her heart/soul/devoted spirit, was back. Again. "Coming!" I muttered/called out weakly/answered with a sigh. I knew what she wanted: help with the groceries/to borrow my car/a cup of tea and to talk about her day. I had just finished cleaning up after dinner/washing dishes/watching my favorite show, and the thought of another conversation/task/demand was enough to make me want to hide/disappear/curl up in a ball.

Flashback Friday: Mom Edition

It's incredible how a simple moment can take you right back to your childhood. Today, I found myself traveling back to one of those special days spent with my parent.

It started with a hearty meal that She always made just ideal. We rambled on about random topics, laughing hysterically. Afterwards, we explored our neighborhood and adored the weather.
